There’s nothing quite like the smell of a freshly cut Christmas tree in your home this time of year! Picking out the perfect tree to take home and decorate is one of the many things that make the holiday season a joyful one. Unfortunately, the beautifully-decorated live tree in your house could be home to mites or little tiny spiders.

In our world of bugs, we field a handful of phone calls from concerned customers each year about these tiny, yet super annoying spiders their Christmas trees are harboring!

These critters make their way into homes in the Charlotte NC metro area this time of year from the North Carolina mountain side. Pest control firms know them well and usually have a few stories to tell.

These pests will infest the Christmas tree and then reproduce, becoming incredibly plentiful in the home where the Christmas tree is located. Due to the sheer number of them, the trees should be disposed of immediately. (Reproducing is the spider’s job and business is good!)

GOOD NEWS!

Shortly after disposing of the tree and having a pest management professional make an interior application to reduce any further activity, the population decreases rapidly!

This time of year brings so many exciting emotions and reasons to celebrate! If you find bugs in your Christmas tree, don’t let it bring your festive spirit down. Give us a call! We’re here to help with your pest control needs in Charlotte NC.

We wish you and yours a very merry Christmas and happy holiday season – free of these unwanted guests!
