World Vision Update of Giving
One of the charities we started supporting in 2014 is World Vision. As a company, Noosa has always placed great value in giving back. It is part of our mission to not only provide pest control to our clients but also to give back to our community and support causes close to our heart. We kicked this mission into high gear in 2014 by beginning several new charitable relationships and programs.
In a previous blog we shared with you what an amazing organization World Vision is, supporting almost 100 countries around the world, helping underserved and underprivileged people. One particular area of concern for World Vision is protecting families in Africa from the dangers mosquitoes can cause. This cause was near and dear to us for a couple of reasons. We feel passionately about helping those who do not have the means to protect themselves and we of course have a connection to the pest that is causing so much harm for these families – mosquitoes! We started a program at Noosa where we pledged to donate a set of mosquito nets to a family in Africa each time a new Mosquito Reduction Service is performed by us. This means that not only are our clients receiving a great service that can give them their backyards back from the grips of mosquitoes, we are also helping a family who needs their own protection from mosquitoes.
We thought, since our commitment is coming up on a year, that this would be a good time to provide an update on how the program is going for us, and how we have been able to help World Vision. So far, at Noosa we are thrilled with the commitment we have made. Each time our technicians provide a new mosquito service to a client we know that we are not only helping them out with a pest issue but that we are also donating a much needed item to a family far away. In our 10 months of making our commitment Noosa has donated 81 mosquito nets, with a value of $1,458. We think this is an awesome start and with another summer season upon us, we know we can do more for this great organization. So if you’re thinking about a mosquito reduction service this summer, please consider Noosa and know that your service is also helping a family in need. We are so proud of this program and so happy to share our progress with you!
