What does Noosa mean?

Noosa Pest Management prides itself on being different than the competition.  This applies to everything from our staff, to the quality of our work, the chemicals we use, and our community involvement.  Being different isn’t always the easy thing to do, but it is important to us to not only stand out, but do so in a way that falls in line with our values.  Another aspect of the company that is different than the rest is our name!  We get questions about our name from time to time and we wanted to clear a few things up about how the company came to be called Noosa.

If you have read our “Who owns Noosa Pest Management” blog, you know that Fred Wingate, our owner, is a water sports aficionado.  This is where the connection between our company and the Noosa names begins.  Noosa is a city in Queensland Australia that produces some of the most incredible waves in the world.  Fred has spent many mornings there paddling into the glassy waves.  He used to live close by to the beach and has many fond memories of surfing there.  When the Wingates created the company, the creative nature of the family made the connection between that beach and the work they wanted to do, and produced the name.  “ABC Pest Control” or another generic name was not an option.  We like to stand apart from the norm, and do things in a way that sets us apart and the Noosa name was one way to do that.

When we say we are different than the competitions we really mean it – and we don’t just mean our name.  To us “Noosa” represents different.  We are different.  Our service.  Our communication.  Our dedication to our community and our employees, set us apart.  Noosa means quality!  We treat others like we ourselves want to be treated.  This is how we roll!  As you might imagine for a pest control company, there are some days when what we do is not very glamorous.  Many times, Fred Wingate can been caught reminiscing about the “old days” of surfing in Noosa Heads in Queensland Australia as he crawls under a low and nasty crawlspace.  He is finding his happy place!  So now that you know where we get our name from, we hope you consider us when you have the need for a pest control company – we are truly different!
