At Noosa Pest Management, serving and volunteering are at the center of our company’s culture.  As we have shared in the past, some causes near and dear to our hearts vary from our commitment to World Vision, to our participation in the Charlotte CROP Walk.  Another event that has become something we take part in every year is the Servants with a Heart food packing event.  This event is put on by an amazing organization and it helps bring food to those in need locally and around the globe.  Long time Noosa Pest clients Jeff and Suzanne Yoh are the founders of Servants with a Heart.  They are the true heroes as they took the risk of starting the incredible venture and investing in all the equipment necessary to make these meal packing events a success. On Sunday March 8th, the Tega Cay food packing event was held at the elementary school and participants were invited to take part in the goal of packing 50,000 meals.  Noosa was thrilled to be a contributor to this goal and the meals we helped put together will be delivered to Central America, local food banks, and the Children’s Attention Home.

Noosa’s experience at the event was streamlined, seamless, and fulfilling as it is each year.  We were very impressed with the setup from beginning to end with the event, as well as the turn out by volunteers. The event organizers gathered everyone in the gym to provide a quick orientation. After this, we sanitized and began stuffing the packages. From opening the package, filling them with dry ingredients, ensuring proper weight, sealing and then boxing, we were working in sync and the 2 hours of packing seemed to fly by. Children and adults collaborated well, with certain tasks tailored to the younger helpers which kept the kids involved and engaged. It was great to see the excitement that kids were feeling from the whole process and know that we were coming together to make a difference for those in need.

We asked Kyle, one of Noosa’s team members, to describe his experience at the event and here is what he had to say.

‘This event was very exciting, fast paced, and full of smiling faces. Everyone came ready to work, and we achieved the goal of approximately 50,000 meals packed in the day. Once we fell into the groove with our particular jobs, it was amazing to see how fast the Noosa table was turning out the packaged meals. One of the event organizers said to me “Many hands make for light work”, and this was true throughout the entire effort. I left knowing that everyone had accomplished a great effort, and everyone was appreciated for their time and work.’

It was an awesome and fulfilling day and Noosa Pest brought great energy to the event!  If you are ever looking for a way to get involved or give back please check outhttp://servantswithaheart.org/ .  We can’t say enough good things about this organization, the events they put on, and the work they do for our local and global community.  Servants with a Heart is continually looking for relationships with churches or civic groups to partner and pack those meals!  Please see their Facebook page and reach out to them if partnering with them is of any interest.
