Questions & Answers
We provide more than pest control! We’re in this business to serve, protect your home, family and community, and deliver peace of mind. We understand that your home is a sacred and special place, as are the family members and pets who live there with you. Our goal is to deliver a plan that protects everyone in your household.
One of the main differences you’ll see with Noosa Pest is that we recognize that every customer has different thoughts about different bugs and critters. That’s why our aim is to reduce the pest population in and around your home to the level that’s acceptable to you for a truly customized pest control treatment plan.
We also listen first, restating what we are hearing to make sure we fully understand your needs and concerns, and then we develop your plan. Execution of the plan is next, then we follow up if needed.
Botanical pest control products have made excellent progress in the modern pest control industry. By nature, they are botanical and they do not last as long as some other types of products. The environment we have here in central North and upstate South Carolina includes rain, sun, a wide range of temperatures, and many homeowners we serve love to garden. Taken together, all of these factors contribute to how long a product’s effectiveness will last between treatment services.
The vast array of insects we have here in our region is also incredibly diverse! Green pest control products are more focused on maintenance around a home or structure. If a client has a specific, tough pest issue they are challenged with, many times we have a specific product for that insect. These products may include botanicals or other reduced-risk products that we use here at Noosa Pest Management for pest control in Charlotte, NC.
Expectations must also be understood and continuously and clearly communicated when relying on botanical products for pest control. The products have a naturally occurring active ingredient and may have a stronger (although pleasant to most people) odor than non-botanical products. These products may take more time to work and may not work as well, and will break down outdoors faster than non-botanical products.
Botanical products can certainly enhance the protection of your home from pests. The service may need to occur more frequently throughout the year since botanical products’ effectiveness is not as long-lasting as other products we have access to.
Our Chief Bugman spent many years on the beautiful continent of Australia. Much of his time was spent entertaining visitors at Sea World of Australia in the water ski show. He would spend any time he could outside of work surfing the beaches, especially at his favorite spot, the point break at Noosa Heads on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland.
In the early days of Noosa Pest Management, the Chief Bugman would reflect on paddling into a perfect wave on a perfect morning in Australia while he was under a house on his belly trenching a crawl space in preparation for termite treatment in Charlotte NC!
The beach at Noosa Heads will always have a special place in the mind of the Chief Bugman, Fred Wingate. He knew there was only one place he wanted to finally settle down and raise a family with his beautiful country girl from Virginia, and that was back home in Charlotte. You can travel the world over but rarely find a place as special as Charlotte.
A few of the same pest control products we use here at Noosa Pest Management are available online. The products are certainly a key component in the overall successful management of pests, but the training and expertise is the true difference when you hire an experienced and well-managed pest control firm to handle your residential pest control service in Charlotte.
Another key is the inspection. We know where to look for specific types of pests, and our knowledge of home construction and training we obtain each year to keep our certifications in force are part of this process. We also have the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) needed to safely manage any type of pest control products, which most homeowners do not have.

Many homeowners will spray a few individual pests and believe their problem is solved, but most types of pests are very good at hiding out where you can’t see them. You might see a bug in your kitchen, but it could be nesting in your basement or crawl space!
There are signs you can look for around your home that indicate you may have an infestation:
- Sounds: Rodents scratch and scurry in wall voids and along baseboards, and termites make a drumming sound.
- Feces: All types of pests may leave tell-tale feces as they move around.
- Damage: Chewed food packaging, stained furniture, gnawed wiring and sawdust may all be signs that pests are present in high numbers.
- Nesting material: Mammals such as mice will set up housekeeping in your house by gathering and shredding paper and fabric or making holes in your home’s insulation.
If you see any of these signs anywhere in your home, don’t wait to call us at 704-741-8129 or contact us online to request your free, no-obligation pest inspection.
We’ll always have pests in the Charlotte area, but they’re easier to live with when they’re not inside living with you! Fortunately, there are many things you can do to prevent pests from establishing an infestation, such as:
- Find and seal entry points: Most bugs and all types of rodents need only a small opening to enter your house. Closely inspect screens for holes and your doors and windows for gaps that may let pests in. Seal up holes where utilities and plumbing come into your house and add weather stripping to doors and windows where needed.
- Don’t provide food and water: Pests are constantly seeking food, water, and shelter, so the fewer of these things you provide, the fewer pests you’ll have. Try to keep kitchens clean by wiping up spills and crumbs every night, and make sure you don’t have any interior plumbing leaks or drips. Also store food in sealed containers or bags.
- Keep your landscape tidy: Some of the pests that come into your home are attracted by vegetation in your yard. Keep shrubs and branches cut back so that they don’t touch your house, pull mulch materials several inches away from your home’s foundation, and store firewood off the ground and as far from your house as possible.
- Keep a lid on garbage: It may not be convenient, but having tightly fitting lids on the trash and recycling cans both inside and outside can help keep pests and wildlife away.
